Burney Fire Protection District
Responding to the public with professionalism, pride, and compassion since 1939. We are always seeking volunteers to support our community response. We offer public education classes in CPR/First Aid, and live scans. We look forward to seeing you at local community events and hope you will take part in our open board meetings held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 3 pm at the Fire Hall.

Cassel Volunteer Fire Company
​The Cassel Volunteer Fire Company, Inc is a nonprofit organization that provides mutual assistance to local emergency service agencies, including fire prevention and first response medical care.​​
Our multi-purpose community building is available to rent for social interaction, recreational activities, and educational opportunities. The approximately 2,400 square foot building includes one multi-purpose room, two restrooms, and one commercial style kitchen.

Fall River Valley Library
Powered by Volunteers! A non-profit library that has continued to operate and grow solely from donations from our community. The FRVL provides books for borrowing as well as public computers, wi-fi access to internet, a conference room, reading garden, copy/fax services, hard-covered fiction & non-fiction books, audio books and DVD's, baking pans to borrow and more! The volunteers provide various community events to serve local patrons and many opportunities to volunteer. We receive no support from the Shasta County Library System.

McArthur Burney Falls Interpretive Association
The McArthur Burney Falls Interpretive Association (MBFIA) is an all-volunteer non-profit education organization that provides assistance and funding for activities which enhance the quality of visits to McArthur Burney Falls Memorial State Park, Castle Crags State Park and Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park. The association was founded in 1984 to promote greater appreciation of the cultural and natural history of the region.
MBFIA raises funds to support educational and interpretive activities, including interpretive personnel, a printed Visitor Guide provided free to visitors. MBFIA manages the Visitor Center Gift Shop. Thanks to a donation from Kelly's Wishes Foundation, interpretive staff lead canoe tours on Lake Britton.
Funds are raised through the sale of firewood, advertising in the Visitor Guides, the operation of the Visitor Center gift shop, and most importantly----donations from friends and visitors.
