Burney, California, is a small mountain town in Shasta County, surrounded by forests, waterfalls, and views of snow-capped peaks like Mount Shasta and Burney Mountain. The main road running through town is Highway 299, and most of the classic motels and lodges are located along it.

Some old-town style motels and places to stay include:

  • Green Gables Motel & Suites – A cozy, vintage-style motel right on Highway 299, known for its clean rooms and friendly service.

  • Charm Motel & Suites – A classic roadside motel with a nostalgic feel, also on Highway 299, close to restaurants and shops.

  • Burney Motel – A small, family-run spot with that old-town charm, perfect for travelers looking for a simple, quiet stay.

  • Shasta Pines Motel & Suites – Slightly more modern but still has that small-town roadside vibe, with easy access to Burney Falls and mountain views.

  • Other Lodging & Camping

If you’re looking for a more rustic experience, Burney Mountain Guest Ranch offers a lodge-style stay surrounded by nature, just a short drive from town.

The snow-peaked mountain you often see from Burney is Mount Shasta, visible on clear days and adding to the town’s scenic charm.
